  • Kerrie Sweezy

Dr. Kerrie Sweezy grew up in West Greenwich, Rhode Island and attended University of Rhode Island where she earned her M.S. in Audiology.  Her interest in the field was sparked after her father suffered a unilateral hearing loss due to Meniere’s Disease and then later a sudden loss in the other ear that was attributed to viral infection.  She knows firsthand how devastating hearing loss can be, to the person affected and to those around them.  After graduation she began practicing and fitting hearing aids in a private practice in Connecticut where she stayed for almost 10 years.  While working, she pursued her Doctorate from the University of Florida which she completed in 2009.  She has been fitting hearing aids and providing aural rehabilitation for over 12 years now and has helped hundreds of people reconnect with the world around them through better hearing.  She loves being able to do such life changing work and has received national recognition for excellence in patient care.  Kerrie has also worked as a supervising Audiologist with UMass for many years.  She is passionate about helping people to hear better and recently took part in a mission trip to Panama testing hearing and fitting people who normally would not have access to hearing healthcare.  Areas of special interest include tinnitus management and new developments in assistive devices and hearing aid technology.  She continues to strive to bring awareness about the serious consequences of untreated hearing loss and its effects on over health.

Kerrie now lives in Warwick, RI with her 3 dogs.  She enjoys being outside, gardening, and biking when she can.  She loves cooking and is an avid reader.
