Beltone Hearing Aid Center

North Carolina

The ability to hear the world around you is an integral part of one's overall health. Yet, many people are either unaware that they have hearing loss, or are reluctant to schedule a hearing test. Beltone Hearing Aid Centers have been committed to helping Americans care for their hearing health for more than 70 years. They understand the apprehension people can go through if they suspect hearing loss. They know it can be a bit daunting to take the next step, and get it corrected. In an effort to educate individuals about the facts surrounding hearing loss, common warning signs, available treatments, as well as, the many services Beltone offers, our website has been designed to give you answers to many of your questions.

Having a professional evaluation at the first signs of hearing loss is absolutely crucial in helping to prevent further damage to your hearing. We have found that knowing precisely what to expect at your first visit to a Beltone Hearing Aid Center can help alleviate much of the stress people can feel. An excellent place to begin is by completing Beltone's exclusive Personalized Hearing Health Assessment (PHHA) directly on our website. This simple assessment will help your Hearing Care Practitioner understand your particular lifestyle. Once you have completed the form, simply print it out and bring it along to your complimentary hearing evaluation. Hearing is a very personal matter and Beltone believes that each patient should be an active participant in discovering the best solution for their individual hearing needs.

Your Beltone Hearing Care Professional will explain each step of your hearing evaluation. Initially, we will gather information such as your medical history, hearing history, medical insurance, etc. Then we will perform a visual examination of your ears. Next, a hearing assessment is done to determine whether or not you have any hearing loss. If no hearing loss is diagnosed, we will be the first to let you know. If hearing loss is detected, you will likely undergo further testing, including a word discrimination test to help us understand how well you can hear speech. Once all tests are complete, your Hearing Care Practitioner will go over the results of your audiogram with you, and recommend the hearing aids that are best suited for your particular type and degree of hearing loss, as well as, your lifestyle and budget. You will also have an opportunity to “test drive” your hearing aids with the unique Beltone Ave™ system. This will enable you to experience the benefits of your hearing aids before you leave the office.

If you suspect that you, or someone you care about, is experiencing hearing loss, we encourage you to take a look at our website to get the most up–to–date information on hearing loss and its prevention. You will also find common warning signs of hearing loss, things you should and should not do when someone close to you has undiagnosed hearing loss, as well as, the many services and hearing aids that are available at Beltone.
